I was reading this (http://ift.tt/2qXCuqG) & some other articles & really having trouble comprehending how Amazon is killing American Clothing/Apparel Retails. It's not all Clothing/Apparel companies in the list, but a significant portion of that sell wearable items. I can get behind the reason Amazon is killing book stores, game stores, IT stores. But clothing?
Do people not need to try on their shirts/pants/shoes before buying any more?
Does Amazon allow all customers to order multiple sizes all at once to try out & ship back?
What's the customer behavior like in the US when buying clothes?
Retail apocalypse refers to the closing of a large number of American retail stores beginning in 2016. Over 4,000 physical stores are affected as American consumers shift their purchasing habits due to various factors, including the rise of e-commerce.
The main factor cited in the closing of retail stores in the retail apocalypse is the shift in consumer habits towards online commerce.
