Think this is where I'd post this? So I'm kind of in this situation where I don't know what I should do, I'm 21(M) trying to get through college and find my own place after wanting to escape the mom's house for a while. Thing is, my parents are divorced and supposedly from what my mother's been saying is that she doesn't really get child support from my dad and she's always short on cash due to inconsistency at her hair salon job. Leaving me to pick up some of the pieces and help pay rent, buy some groceries and even leaving my $10/hr support specialist temp job to pick up my little brother and sister from school for a couple weeks so far. I love the kids and have been holding off a bit on leaving all together due to not wanting to leave them with the mess that is my parents. But now I'm just really thinking I should try to get out? I have a good friend who's got a room I can rent for $300 a month but at the same time I've only got a temp job at the moment which I feel I could make something out of, I regretfully don't have any savings and after my paycheck pick up tomorrow I'll be at about $275 after a few bills so I'm hoping if I did decide to leave it'd be in about 2-3 weeks probably to get the right amount saved up. Normally, this job gives me 40 hours a week if I want though they're pretty flexible with the hours which has been really great for my situation. So should I continue staying here helping out family or should I focus everything on trying to move over to that room?
-P.S. I don't have a room here, it's a desk and a couch and I'm pretty regularly pressured to buy groceries for the house, be stuck at the house watching the kids, and setting me back from my own goals. My bills add up to $670 without food which wouldn't change since I'm technically paying $300 here but always being pressured for more money and at the very best I can make $1600 if I work 40 hours all 4 weeks in a month.
P.S.S. Apparently we're late on the rent by about 14 days right now here since hurricane irma kinda messed with our job schedules/clientele and just in general not having enough money I guess, so I don't even know what's happening within the next couple weeks being that at max I can only make 800 before the end of this month and I'm not too sure about her.
