So I've looked all over the internet and I can't find much that help me. I have a town home, and when you walk up the stairs there a good length of the top of the stairs that's like a shelf.I'll post pictures so it's easier to see what I'm trying to describe. Unfortunately there's no way to move my furniture around because I don't have much space, but my bed and lounge happen to be right next to the wall that leads downstairs. The problem I have, is that I have a blind cat who loves to explore EVERYWHERE he can go. This morning I woke up to the horrific site of him walking along the top of stairway and where he was, if he had fallen down he'd fall at 6-9 feet and since he's blind there no way he'd be able to brace for that kind of fall like a normal cat.I calmly got him down, and I've gotten a baby fence to keep him from going upstairs unsupervised. However I don't feel safe, and since this morning I've been restless with anxiety. I'd be devastated if my pet got seriously injured or worse, especially by something so horrible. The length of the stairway is 115 inches long, and it's 7 inches and a quarter wide.top of my stairwayI've seen something like this netting but being a cat, I'd imagine he'd try climbing that.I've also considered maybe getting a 2X2 that goes the whole length and putting two boards on each end and stretch a type of netting across. So if he does hop up there he'll have a wall made of netting, and I'd make it tall enough so he doesn't think he can jump over it .Like I said I've searched a lot of places and it's difficult finding something that works because it's not something neat and square like a balcony where I could just use a net zen since it needs all 4 corners to work.Any help would be appreciated, I'm not gonna be able to sleep right until I know my adventurous cat is 100% safe from falling to his death. via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2wxxoG2
