I've used up my supply of swag / give away earbuds and <hangs head in shame> it looks like I will have to buy some. I tried all the $1 brands at my 99cent / dollar store and they were pretty crappy. I'm not expecting audiophile quality, just decent NPR voice reproduction. Do I dare try the $2.99 fancy smancy earbuds from the 99 cent store? I am willing to go as high as...3.50... :-)
