I'm really not sure what information will be relevant or not, any help with this matter would be greatly appreciated! I'm 25 years old and in March 2016 I moved to California with my boyfriend. Before that, I lived in Florida surrounded by family. After moving to CA, I checked my credit out through Credit Karma and saw that I had two items in collections.

The first item in collections is from Comcast for $818. While I've lived with family or roommates who have used Comcast, I have never personally signed up for it myself, I've never even set foot inside of a Comcast building. It currently says it's been open for a year but when I checked it after moving, it had already been open for almost 6 or 7 years.

The second item is from a dental office from when I had my braces taken off in high school (I was 16 or 17). The date for this is says it was opened in Sept 2011 which would make me 20 that year and it says it's been open for 6 years but I know for a fact I was still in high school when my braces were taken off. This item I actually am aware of, but only in the sense that I believed my parents took care of it through some welfare type program but apparently one of them bounced a check or something and forged my name for that.

I did speak to my parents (who have never been well off and have horrible debt themselves) and they told me to file a dispute. I just went through the process on Credit Karma and got it taken off or so I thought. I'm probably really dumb but I don't know a lot about credit or how to take care of these things. I just didn't realize that there were three Credit agencies, so I had apparently only taken care of the TransUnion side of things. I could still see it on my Equifax.

I tried disputing it from Equifax and just recently this week got a notice saying that "We verified that this item belongs to you" for both of the items that are on my collections page. I think the credit karma website is glitching, because it shows the dental collection one twice. I'm not sure what my next steps should be. I tried calling Equifax today to see if I could get any help but due to the big security thing or whatever, I'm not getting through to them, and I have no idea how to see if these bills are on Experian as well. They were taken off for the TransUnion credit page. Neither Comcast or the dental office has ever contacted me personally and I lived in the same town in Florida for several years. I just want these items taken care off but I also don't have $1200+ to just pay for it myself. What can I do to fix these collections?
