After waiting well over an hour on hold waiting for an RBC agent, I've been informed that they are charging me a $20 cancellation fee because I've allegedly had my policy less than a year (which I just realizes isn't even true, I've had it a year and a half gah!). Anyway, I have never been charged a cancellation fee for tenants' insurance in my life and I used to work in insurance before. I've used different companies through independent brokers previously and all they required was 30 days notice. Is this commonplace now?
