I bought this heating element and I'm looking to play around with some waterproof temperature sensors in an attempt to write some scripts that can control or maintain the water temperature. I plan on using a SSR rated for a wall socket to control the current from a wall socket to the heating element directly. Should that just work, or do I need some kind of current protection? I'm unsure if internal resistance with a known voltage input forces a current flow of 12.5A, or if I need to limit the current myself to avoid a short. Thanks. via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2xESLa6
