More of a FYI for those like me still learning the new/used vehicle and financing game.

I gave my insurance provider a call today regarding used 2014 model Rav4, civic, 2015 corolla, and CRV to see about the differences among SUV/sedans. My initial thought was "Hey SUVs are sometimes bigger and stuff so should cost more right?"

Well. 6 months paid in full amounts would equal:

2014 CRV - quote $355 (FWD), $375 (AWD)

2014 Civic - quote $439

2014 Rav4 - quote $378

2015 corolla - quote $414

If I paid in monthly installments? Tack on atleast $75 in total paid for the quotes and a little more for civic/corolla.

Maybe that $100-200 extra overall payment won't kill you but it gives nice perspective to how your insurance provider looks at vehicles in your area and overall.

I'm a mid 20s person with no tickets and only "accidents" have been no-fault due to someone else hitting me.
