In the process of refinishing a dining room table we got for free. Style is very similar to this table. The guy I got it from bought it at a garage sale for $300 and was told it was mahogany. The top was pretty rough, but the extensions were gorgeous. I'm now thinking someone refinished the top but not the extensions at some point. We stripped, stained (in an attempt to make the main table and extensions a little closer in color), and have currently applied 4 coats of Watco Teak Oil. (crappy photos of table surface and extension at midpoint in project)My question is about when to call it good. I have read varying reports on what to do as a final coat - just more coats of teak oil, paste wax, my coworker suggested Daly's Profin and sanding with abralon pads, or poly... We have a 1 year old, so I expect it to get some hard use in the upcoming years. Would appreciate advice from someone with knowledge of teak oil. via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2xvwXgP
