First things first - image link: http://ift.tt/2yhWveP found these chess pieces second hand. I know that they are Mexican Bone Chess Pieces and are of the "Tarascan Cut" (named after the Tarascan tribe that made them).Long story short, I'm wondering what wood/glaze to use for a novice whittler, I think I can make the basic shape - I suppose I'm wondering how to color them so that they match the original pieces. Also since I don't have access to bone, what would be a good substitute material.I'm trying to make a white rook, a white knight, and a black rook. Alternatively, if someone knows where to buy a replacement, that's also useful information.Thank you in advance! via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2f3YSt6
