Hi all!
So my partner and I have been moved out for nearly a year now- and at the beginning, we had a lot of unexpected start up costs that come with furnishing/looking after a new place. My partner convinced me to get a very low interest rate credit card, to which I was extremely iffy about, but decided to go with in the end.
Fast forward, and the basic issue is we have 2k in savings, but 1.5k in debt (its measley, but we're broke students). Partner wants to throw it all on the card and be done with it, whereas I wanted to go with a slow and steady approach. Due to many reasons my partner is now the sole breadwinner of the household and I have found he can often be irresponsible with money, so I'm worried if we throw it all on the credit card it'll take us forever to get back to the savings we once had, despite his insistence.
What would you do, Reddit? Get the card done but with no savings, or pay it off over the months?
