Hi all,

I am looking for some help with getting into a career in Asset Management (Equity Research). I'm 21, have a First Class Honours in Economics from a top UK University and, whilst managing to get an internship at an IB firm in 2015, my summer applications and subsequent graduate applications have failed to come to fruition.

It sucks to have had over 40 rejections but it's one of those things that you have to learn from. I've attended CV workshops, interview workshops and lots of networking events all in an attempt to understand what I can do to make sure I get a grad job. I've been preparing my CV, cover letters and applications for a while having taken on some of the advice I've received. I feel a bit more confident this time, but after so many rejections, I've definitely taken a knock.

Just before I hit that submit button on my applications, I was wondering if people on /r/investing had any advice on what things are crucial to know / include on an application which can get across my interest in the area and ability (without coming across as an arrogant smart-ass who interviewers would love to rip apart).

I fully appreciate that a lot of the users on this thread may not work in that industry but I would be grateful for any advice

Thank you!
