I don't think Reddit is a great platform for discussing investments. It's really mostly suited to news and hot topics. Someone could post a very good response to a slightly older thread and much fewer people would see it since the thread doesn't get bumped, so his only option is to start an entirely new thread to bring up his point. And the cycle continues.
I did a search and the last result I could find was from 2012.
The two I visit:
Corner of Berkshire- I really like that they have separate threads for each ticker, it organizes the discussion really well. IME there is a bit too much anecdotal evidence/discussion. Also I get the impression that it is an older crowd and so tech isn't discussed much or understood as well as Reddit.
Bogleheads- very index tilted, not much discussion on individual stocks. Also not as organized as Berkshire's forum in that anyone can start a topic.
