This post is inspired by u/jayleel98 who was robbed more than 1k due to a Craiglist sale gone wrong. I learned a good deal about how to conduct such sales in the future from that thread. Thank you all very much, especially to u/jayleel98 who suffered from this injustice but taught many of us something to be aware of.
It also reminded me of how my friend was recently traveling internationally with her family, and was wrong about her departure date (not even time, date!). So all four of them missed their flight back home, and had to urgently buy new tickets. It cost them $4,000. 4K down the drain, pretty much. Lesson here is obvious: Double- and triple-check your flights dates and times. Missing a flight can be ridiculously expensive.
So, r/frugal: What are your life lessons that you've learned so far that cost you money? Can we all collectively learn from everyone's experience? Thanks!
