Excuse me if I'm not in the right place but I believe I have a rather simple question for y'all.
I'm a university undergrad and have been working part-time for 5 years now. I have some money saved, some invested in various things (nothing retirement), and an emergency fund. Can I simply create a Roth IRA in Vanguard and contribute as much/little as I want up to $5,500 per year? (Vanguard solely because I have an account there already, I suppose I could set it up elsewhere but Vanguard seems best?)
Because some of my money is invested, I was just thinking about waiting for retirement til I get a full-time job and then just throw $5,500 in there every year. But if it's that easy to setup and do then I figure I might as well start now.
Open to all feedback. Thank you
