Overheard HR on the phone. They will be hiring a temp to take over my role after I finish the user guides and documentation of my role. They will be letting me go due to “lack of performance”. I am the only source of income for my family, and have credit card debt I’ve been slowly paying off. I have a few days of PTO saved up. Can I apply for unemployment if I get fired? Should I put my PTO in now and just apply for jobs?
