I have $1,000 that I plan to invest in ETFs (probably SPY or the Vanguard equivalent, with the rest going into emerging market ETFs); I have another $1,000 that I put into stocks to try to learn the market. I get the impression that the market is sort of at a high, but I'm not sure if timing ETFs is absolutely critical. Is it still better to buy them low, or would it theoretically not matter? It feels like kind of a dumb question but this doubt keeps nagging at me that now is not a good time to buy ETFs and that I should wait until the market is lower. I'm somewhat new to investing, so I would appreciate a detailed answer! Thanks :)
