I'm posting this here, because I didn't know where to find a subset of frugal nerds.
I volunteered to buy some Lego Education robots for my kids elementary school. No problem, but I realized they will also need tablets to go with them.

The idea is that the tablet (or really small laptop, I guess) goes with the robot as a kit and can travel from classroom to classroom.
My first idea was a Kindle Fire, because they are fairly cheap. But they are not compatible (wrong version of bluetooth, according to Amazon).
Any recommendations? They don't need bells and whistles, but I will have to get some pretty durable cases for them. Target grades are 1st-5th.
Any tips on where/when to buy would also be appreciated.
