Just putting this tip out in case some weren't aware:
I get a lot (a lot) of spam mail from previous owners and just random companies in my mailbox every day. Catalogs, coupons, those annoying little local flyers. So. Much. Crap.
I've found that most of these catalogs and so forth have a number you can call to have your address removed from the mailing list. Barring that, a quick google search usually leads you to the information you need.
It takes a few minutes of your time, but in the end it really helps clean up that mess of advertising that can become your mailbox over time.
For me, I find these adverts annoying and wasteful. So, it's a relief since I started doing this because each month I keep getting less and less crap. Better for me, better for the environment. Win/win.
