I work outdoors in western Colorado. In the winters it gets a bit chilly. Not too bad, although we occasionally get an air inversion and it can get bitter cold. But most of the winters it stays fairly mild.
For the past few winters I've been wearing a cabelas roughneck hoodie. When it gets really cold, I'll put on a fleece under it. It's been a great coat. My only complaint is it's not waterproof, but we don't usually get too much snow. My only issue with it is I've lost a few pounds, and it's a bit big on me now. So I figure I'll see what else is out there. My preferences:
Needs to be strong. I bump into stuff, catch it on things, and its almost always in contact with a handful of mail.
I prefer a zip up to a pullover.
Warm, but not crazy so. I'm a mail carrier, have a heated truck but there are always lots of packages to walk up to doors.
Water resistant would be nice, but not required.
I've had carhartt before. Nice product, but I can never find one that doesn't have crazy long arms. Also had under armour and a couple others in the past, just wondering what else is out there. Any recommendations?
