Good evening,

I'm desperately looking for a BITFL pair of brown combat boots in the style the Corcoran jump boot, but actually good.

I've owned 2 pairs of corcorans, neither of which lasted more than a year, and one of which lasted just 8 months of almost daily wear before the leather cracked and split.

I've tried the Varusteleka jump boots, both Mark I and Mark II, but found that they, too, lasted less than a year, and also had no shank.

I've tried the Vintage Shoe Company jump boot that turned out to be made of what seemed like purse leather, and whose heels fell off after 3 months.

I've tried the ATF Corcoran knock-off, and the whole rubber sole peeled off in about 4 months.

Specifically what I'm looking for:

*10-12" (or 10-14 hole)
*Brown vegetable tanned (ideally) leather
*Eyelets from top to bottom .
*Shank
*Vibram sole (100F or something else sturdy)
*Unlined is fine, leather lined is better
*Sewn/goodyear welt sole
*Something that will last ~5 years with some rotation and possibly a resoling
*Brogue toe cap (optional but preferred) *City and field use *Up to $500 price range, +-

Custom Wescos that resemble the Corcoran will set me back almost 1000$, and that's too rich for my blood.

The redwing 899's are nice but not longer produced (it seems?). The 699's are nice, but also no longer produced, and don't come in brown.

I've written William Lennon and also Viberg to ask for a custom build quote.

Does anyone know of anything off the shelf that's BITFL and matches some or most of my criteria?

Cheers,

-F
