I'm planning on making a run to attach to my rabbit hutchI have three main aims, which are:to make a run that I can attach and remove from my hutchTo be able to attach a second larger run to thisto make both runs foldableThese go up in order of difficulty to achieve and in order of necessity. If anyone is able to give any comments on my plans it would be much appreciated.1 Making the runSo I'm happy measuring up,cutting and screwing together wood to get the frame (I am using this for the frame, in case it is a poor choice). I am planning on using these staples to hold the chicken wire in. Then I am nailing this felt over it.The main bits I am not sure about here are how to attach it in an easy to remove way. I am currently planning putting two hooks on each side of the run at different heights. I have included a (very bad) diagram in case I have been unclear2 Making the extensionThe second part is to make an extension/larger run. This would attach to both the hutch and the run described above. Top down plan here (No measurements or anything like that, just the layout). This was going to be attached using the same hooks, at the points indicated in the top down diagram above. In order to allow the rabbits through to the second run I was going to make one end of the fold over with hinges. Obviously this would mean making one end a panel that fold over, and I am not sure whether I would need more hooks on both sides of the panel to keep it more secure when it is down (or if there are other, better ways of making it secure than the hook attachments).3 foldableIdeally both parts would fold/collapse for storage. For the smaller run I think this should be - the front can fold under the roof, and sides can fold over. As in part 2, I am not sure what the best way of securing the pieces together are when they are folded down. The larger piece won't all fold together - are there any nice ways to build separate panels that would connect together solidly? I could make it fold to something flat, but separate pieces/panels would be a lot smaller for storage.TL;DR:I want to make a box that folds up. How do I secure the panels together when it is out?Are these hooks a reasonable way of attaching runs/hutches together? via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2vc96Bo
