Hey guys, I sincerely apologize if this is the wrong sub reddit for this but I feel like this is where I'd get the best/most responses. I will try to keep it short.I recently started a interior systems mechanic/lather/drywall apprenticeship (1~ month in) and I also recently discovered that you may transfer to be trained to be a taper/finisher with the company if you show interest.Whenever I watch a taper at work I think to myself how much I would enjoy it (seems like it would satisfy my OCD and craving to "fill" crevices and smooth surfaces). But the apprenticeship I have right now is something that will reward me with something concrete (red seal certification etc). It seems that talented tapers are also sought after and very respected. In a perfect world I would finish my 4 year apprenticeshipship to get my red seal so I have it then learn my taping skills but I feel that I'm at the age where I cannot dedicate to two things (I'm 23).TL;DR I'm having career choice conflicts between dedicating to being a lather (with a redseal cert at the end) vs to starting to gain experience to become a good taper. My apologies if my post is not well thought out, it's hard for me to write everything that I am feeling about this issue.Thank you very much via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2uUMcvb
