Last year I ripped out a bedroom carpet and put in laminate flooring. I am confident the gentleman at Home Depot mentioned not to put furniture on it immediately. I tried searching this logic online since and can't find a definitive answer.I am now planning ahead to replace the carpet in our basement with new laminate flooring. The kicker is I purchased a bar last year that is heavy and was very difficult to get in the room! (the bar was on sale, I had to act quick) Ideally, would rather not uninstall parts of it to get through the door and remove it from the room.My basement room is 'L' shaped, no closets. My thought process is to move the bar to the other side of the room, rip out carpet, clean, then put down flooring. When that is done, move the bar back onto the new part of the floor (even though the room is not 100% complete). Does anybody know is this will actually interfere with the floor long-term? Is this settling thing important? via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2vS4UXA
