So, I posted here awhile back having moved into my first apartment on my own, no roommates.
Moved in on the 28th of July, and got the first electric bill last week. Looks like the total for this period, I guess, is $67. Bad?
It's a top floor apartment, and I do leave the AC on auto (76) as well as the fans. Tried it for a few days with only the fans running - nope. Southern summer heat wasn't having it.
I have been running the washer and dryer a lot, though. I'm trying to cut it back to once every two weeks, but I initially had a lot of clothes to wash (old apartment had laundry cards and I didn't feel like refilling so close to move out). Along with an issue where I had a broken dryer for awhile (eventually broke down and washed clothes. Auto would work kinda if you ran it for 3 hours). Trying to get it to where I can have one or two loads for my clothes and one load for pet laundry, and I'm using cold water.
I've also been using the dishwasher, but I don't use all that many dishes per day, nor do I cook every day. Is it cheaper to just run the dishwasher once a week, or to just wash them by hand as I use them? (Guess that's more geared towards a water bill question, but eh.)
