Okay, so my trusty pair of all purpose shoes are on their last legs. I think I bought them last year at DSW for about $35. Now, I can see through the sole on the bottom. I'm really tired of shoe shopping. Maybe I should also post on r/buyitforlife, but I thought I'd try here first.
So, my situation is that I'm a teacher. I walk/ take the bus every day. I look young, so I HAVE to dress very professionally to be respected. I want something that "goes with anything". I typically go for black or gray shoes for that reason. The hard part is that I'm on my feet all day, walking to and from work, walking around the room, and sometimes running to class on the other side of campus, 5 days a week. I've never been able to make shoes last, and I'm bad at shoes in general. So, I basically need the holy Grail of shoes: classic, stylish, comfy, and well made to take a beating. I frequent my local Goodwill, but they often don't have my size or have anything that good. So please, help me out. What brands do I look for? I have less than weeks until school starts. I'm willing to pay higher prices if it means never doing this again, but I don't know what I'm doing. Thanks in advance!
