People say you should buy defensive stocks to weather a market correction, but most defensive stock I checked out back in the 2008/2009 crash still dropped around 50% and took quite a long time to recover completely....several years, mostly.
Whereas, the so-called riskier stocks dropped more, of course, like 80%...but they were able to recover completely in just a year.
So, I still don't get the logic.
Any food for thought?
