I started a Roth IRA with USAA and put it in their "moderately aggressive fund" or USAA CORNERSTONE MODERATELY AGGRESSIVE (USCRX) . However, in a search for lower fees, I opened a Vanguard account a little while ago and transferred it over to them. My money stayed in the same USAA account, however. This morning I called and said that I wanted to transfer it into an index fund, however being the noob that I am I wasn't sure which index fund. I choose the "total market" one or Vanguard Total Stock Market Index Fund Investor Shares.
Did I do the right thing? Is there a better (historically better rate of return) index fund? What sort of fees am I going to be seeing with this one?
Am I getting the provably most that I can over the longest period of time with my money (knowing that none of you bear a fiduciary responsibility to me).
