I know the basics of investments in stocks, and looking to invest in the Indian stock markets. My concern is that since the bull market in NIFTY is already about five years old, am I too late for investing now?

NIFTY was at 5k levels in 2012, whereas its 10k levels now and awaiting its first major correction (that's what most technical experts believe, and also confirmed by last few days' price movements). The million dollar question for me is:

  1. Is this going to be a small correction, or a hindenberg kind of bear that will keep going down?
  2. Assuming its the former, how much more upside can I expect. How many years do bull markets last on average, empirically?
