I recently discovered this brand called The Ordinary that sells a more basic version of the same skin care formulas sold by really high end companies, except at a much more reasonable price. I bought about $30 worth of products that would have run me about $150-$200 if I had bought the other brands.
My opinion is that if you have generally well-behaved skin that doesn't need too much maintenance it's frugal to just stick to the most simple routine possible. I personally can get away with washing my face with just water and an exfoliating bamboo cloth followed by moisturizing with jojoba oil, but lately I felt like my skin needed a little boost because it is prone to dryness and I wanted to reduce some blemishes.
I did some research on which formulas are suited to my skin type and what I wanted to achieve, and bought the recommended formulas. I've definitely noticed an improvement and the products work just as they're supposed to.
At such low prices I'd normally assume there must be some catch, but the company is legit and the formulas come in very stylish, high quality packaging, so it doesn't seem like they're skimping on anything in order to offer such low prices.
