Hello everyone
Like the title says, I am a teacher in a particularly challenged school district in Milwaukee, WI. Milwaukee is faced with many problems such as segregation, violence, and inappropriate tax spending. However, as a teacher, the most disheartening problem that I see every day is hunger.
I am starting the first ever cooking class at my school, but we are extremely limited on resources. This class is centered around responsible budgeting, nutrition, and learning the skills of cooking. This class will be extremely rigorous and use online tools to keep track of spending, organize shopping lists, and compare nutritional values of meals.
To achieve my goal of feeding students, and teaching students how to better feed themselves, we require basic cooking materials.
