My wife wanted this IKEA BESTA TV Unit specifically for it's size, so here we are. This product page says not to hang on wall, but I'm sure if mounting it myself (DIY-style) on studs, I'd be fine. Now, I'd like some outside input. My plan right now is getting two 30" french cleat system, rated for 300 lbs, to mount this to the wall using studs. After some Google-ing, people have mounted L-brackets or a 2x4 to the wall to help support the cabinet from the bottom as well. I like the idea of the L-brackets to minimize the visible footprint - are these sufficient for this type of application?edit: do want to add that this won't be holding a TV. We're going for the floating credenza look in a hallway. The question I have is the BESTA frame sturdy enough to mount a french cleat to? Looks like I have 4 mounting points on the frame, but the product material doesn't convince me. Should I mount some 1x2 / 1x4 between the frame on the top backside and use those as additional mounting points for the cleat?Top panel/ Bottom panel/ Side panel/ Partition: Particleboard,Honeycomb structure recycled paper filling, Fiberboard, Foil, Foil, ABS plastic, Plastic Back: Fiberboard, Foil, Foil via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2woMSMR
