I hope I'm doing this correctlyI'm planning to make my own desk after I couldn't find any desk that I wanted. Really the main problem was that the desk itself wasn't entirely wood and couldn't really be drilled into. I'm planning to buy a screen arm, or whatever you call that, for four screens with a maximum weight of around 40kg, but I'm not really comfortable just tightening it in place I'd rather actually drill a few holes in a desk and secure it there instead. The biggest problem for me at least, is that I have absolutely no idea how to choose material. I was thinking about a 7 to 10ish centimetres thick desk or so, just so that I have more than enough depth to fasten the screws. I don't know what type of wood I should use, or even if such a thick board is even necessary. I was thinking oak, but I don't know if it is sturdy enough.Either way I need some help deciding which type of wood I should use, I'd be incredibly grateful for whatever help I can get at least. via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2i9CzXd
