Hello. My friend and I are making a new motorcycle windshield out of Lexan. The first couple of times we would bend it into shape with a special jig and then use heat gun to make it adhere to the shape. It doesn't work too bad, but is a bit tedious. We are considering warming it up in the stove, as multiple sources suggest, but my friend is concerned about some harmful elements being emitted from the plastic and remaining in the stove. Most of my search results on heating acrylic in the stove just say "do it, it's safe", but they don't really cite and resources on why they think it is safe.Does anyone here have any more concrete information on whether it is safe to heat up acrylic in the stove, so I can show it to my friend and set her mind at ease?Thank you! via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2uy4u4Q
