We had our 80 yr old hardwood subfloor lifted and replaced with 18 mm OSB. Saved the good boards, which have dimensions 11.5 by 1.5 cm, and am now thinking of planing and refinishing for use as flooring. See linked images below. I'm thinking we could get a good rustic look this way. But I'm nervous about installing the boards on OSB, and also without a tongue and groove. Cutting tongue and groove would be more work than I'm willing to put up with right now.So, can I install hardwood floor boards over OSB? If so, what's the best technique? And can I get away with not creating a tongue and groove?Couple pictures of the an example board, and the subfloor OSB underneath. via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2uRY2oQ
