I'm planning on getting married next year (in CA), but I don't want to ask for a pre-nup. I love my fiance dearly, and I trust her more than anyone else in the world...but I'm a paranoid redditor. I wonder, what if things don't work out?
Is there a way to protect the assets I have amassed in my 401k, Roth IRA, Taxable retirement account, and my savings account?
A few people I know have recommended a trust. But what are the pros and cons of a trust? Help me reddit. What steps can I take to protect my assets in the unlikely, and god forbid, event of a divorce?
