/r/Frugal, I need to furnish my bedroom while I attend university for only 9 months. I more specifically need to select a mattress/bed for this short amount of time!
I really want to invest in a quality mattress, but right now might not be the best time. I think as of now I plan on buying an ikea futon to sleep on for the next 9 months. I plan on moving out to my own place instead of back to my parents so ideally I may be able to take the futon with me as a guest bed while I then invest in a new mattress. Otherwise I may purchase a mattress from amazon/ikea. Any feedback on this plan would be super appreciated!
Additionally, I do need a desk, chair, and perhaps a chest of drawers and I'm not sure where I should look first. I was thinking of craigslist for certain things, but with the posts I read about potential bed bugs in craigslist furniture I am pretty deterred from that course of action.
