I purchased an APEC reverse osmosis water filter and need to drill a 1/2" hold into my 1'1/4" granite countertop for the faucet.I suppose I could pay a contract/plumber to do this for me, but the cost would likely be as much (more?) than the case of the system itself in my area so I would like to do this work myself.I bought this 1/2" diamond core drill bit and some plumber's putty to make the water pool surrounding the hole to keep the bit cool.MY QUESTIONSIs it OK for a novice to be drilling a hole in granite or should I really hire a professional?Assuming I do this work myself, what advice would you have for me? via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2w6OI4L
