I've been using an Eddie Bauer backpack that I bought all the way back in 2002. Great pack but the leather on the bottom of it developed a tear at one of the seams. Per an old post I remembered reading on BuyItForLife I took the pack into my local Eddie Bauer to use the "Guaranteed For Life" warranty.
Well, the manager of the store stated that the bag was near the end of the bag's life and that the most he would give me was $9.99 off of a any new backpack. When I asked them to just repair it instead he said that was not possible. I gotta say I certainly won't be making any other purchases at Eddie Bauer if they are unwilling to honor the warranty they literally built their brand with.
