I have read some of the other threads in this sub from a few years ago about fabric on gaming tables. I want to make sure that I am understanding the pro/con choices. It seems the best two materials are speed cloth and USV, with speed cloth being more durable, resistant to stains, etc., and USV having a nicer feel to things, but easier to soak up a spill. Those are my base assumptions and please correct me if I am in error about that. So, some questions:We have cats. The table will have panels, but those of you with cats know their hair has teleportive properties. Would one be better than the other? Can I Scotch Guard USV to help some with potential spill cleanup? The speed cloth I have seen has a card suit pattern on every color, and I'm not a huge fan. Are there some plain/unpatterned speed cloth sources? The table will be white oak with mahogany trim finished with Tung oil on the oak. Progress pic with rough mockup. I am not sure that a traditional poker green or burgundy would look as good as a different color like a gray or lighter shade of blue. I am new to project building, and would love suggestions.I only need a yard of material for the play surface and I am planning on using the closed cell padding from yourautotrim underneath. I would love any other sources or suggestions for this. The table itself is, I think going to look pretty nice, so I don't want the fabric to be that last step that I skimp on and that makes it detract from the overall look of the table. What is your preference for gaming surface? Thank you! This may be me overthinking it, but our most played games are things like Rex, Evolution, Waterdeep, Champions of Midgard, Dungeon Lords, so there is a mixture of tile, cards, and dice rolling, if that makes a difference. via /r/DIY http://ift.tt/2vxBCgo
