I'm currently reading Jim Roger's Hot Commodities, followed by: Commodities Demystified and The Economist Guide to Commodities. Both of which are light read and should provide a good introduction to the world of Commodities at a beginner level.

I don't have any specific commodity in mind at the moment yet, but was wondering if anyone could perhaps share some useful information regarding the following:

  1. Are there any sites that provides charts/data for commodities that are more than 10-15 years? Seems most of the sites like bloomberg, financial times, etc only show charts of each commodity going back 5-7 years only :(

  2. What are some of the sites people like to use for tracking current news regarding Commodities. (I'm using only FinancialTimes, Reuters right now) Obviously, i'm aware of most of the major news sites, but was wondering if there are any good sites that people use that are more specifically for commodities.

  3. What are some of the key important reports to keep track of? I know USDA is a key one for Agriculture, and API, EIA are important for Energy, but what are some other major reports for other Commodities?

  4. Reputable commodities firms, analysts, blogs, reports you like to follow.

  5. Important books on Commodities that you would recommend.
