I am working in London, earning a decent salary in a steady stable job, 40% goes in rent/bills and I live very frugally otherwise. I earn more than the average salary and I still feel the struggle/pinch so I don't understand how others manage here. I live alone and don't have family to support me.
I still am not putting much away per year still in order to save for a deposit and/or purchase a 1 bedroom 'new type' flat here. I started looking elsewhere e.g. Sydney for a 1 bedroom nice flat and it is still about 300-400k GBP. I have no idea how I will ever get that kind of money saved until I'm like 50.
Am I missing something here? Or I just need to find a new career that pays me more? Or new country? No idea at this point and feeling kinda demotivated as I work really hard for my living.
Any advice is welcome.
