Not sure if this is r/Frugal material but does anyone out there have a optimised way of doing can and bottle returns. I live in New York and I work for a company that hosts lots of parties. Because of these parties there are always cans and bottles laying around (upwards of 500 a day) and I've recently got permission from my work that they are open game to anyone who wants to take them. I've been told that I should remove the can opener tab and scrap those separately. They also have said that keeping cans that arent refundable in NY (like arizona cans) are great to crush down and sell as scrap. Basically just asking if there is more to be had then just the $.05 return. Thanks in advance!
