I HAVE steelbelted colemans which do last forever though the plastic on the bottom ages and cracks..just cause... I have even repaired my 45 years old steelbelted. IF you have a big iced block and a full cooler, it does its job very well. it's when it's partially empty it fails.
I have had no luck with soft sided coolers for most uses except luch bags. nearly all of the personal sized coolers last forever... unless you toss them from a moving vehicle, people usually get rid of them when the outside looks disgusting.
I need to buy another cooler for behind the Seat in the car. the classic igloo little 9qt lives there for bringing lobsters home. I would like a larger one to make use of the space. Everything in the midsize is either ridiculously expensive like the Marine or Yeti type or like most of the igloo square coolers...usless with not much insulation.
Thoughts? even outside the box? i am hoping to spend 50 for a cooler that will not disappoint. Do i need to make something?
Thanks.
