I had an e-mail this morning from a company wanting to recruit me for their business. As a recent college graduate, I am open to new opportunities. However, I do my research on companies. This is a newer company, founded in 2013. I researched the CEO on LinkedIn, and noticed, IMMEDIATELY, he is connected with a guy who offered me a job with his firm, which turn out to be a scam. Already, my concerns became high.

Upon doing further research, I discovered this company performs work to acquire clients for a energy company known as Star Energy Partners, a major power company scam, particularly relevant in the northern region of Illinois (Rockford, Chicago, Naperville, etc.) I knew it sounded familiar because in September, a couple of guys from the company came to my apartment trying to get me to change to their services. They apparently visited every apartment in my building and most in the other building surrounding me, from what the property manager had told me.

The company, in the long run, will produce for you a higher power bill, and the cancellation fee is horribly expensive. They pose as people who say they are acquiring your power company (in my case, ComEd,) but they are simply out to screw customers on the power bills.

Don't know if anyone within this subreddit has had this same experience, but I just wanted to let y'all know about this company in case they attempt to do business with you.
