I currently have Comcast/Xfinity as it is only them and AT&T available in my area. I'm looking at the two offers and trying to decide which one is more cost effective for a 24 month contract.
Currently with taxes and fees I'm paying $122.36 for Comcast which includes 75mbps/10mbps internet with a 1TB data cap (of which we use 500GB max). I am consistently getting random speeds. Right now I'm getting 18mbps wired into my Linksys Velop. Other days it will be 90mbps. It is random when this happens and I've had to call comcast/linksys several times. I'm thinking it is on comcast's end. Cause you know... Comcast.
Anyway, my area was recently wired for AT&T Fiber. They have a special for up to 4 receivers (we would use 3 max; right now we have 1) with 2017 NFL Sunday Ticket (not sure we would use it by my mom might as she is thinking of cutting Dish so she could use it to stream online). It also includes their fiber internet (100mbps) with NO data cap and 200+ channels. We would get less channels but we love watching cartoons (I'm 24 and my sister is 21 and my dad loves watching them, too) so we/I want this for boomerang (the good cartoons). This plan costs $130.83 WITHOUT taxes/fees but I get a $50 rewards card which I would 100% put towards the internet. I might be able to even get a $100 one as that is what someone said over the phone last night when I was checking on this.
I'm not sure which to do. I know Comcast is better for my wallet but AT&T gives more features and faster speeds but I've heard some awful things about their customer service. My mom would help out on our bill (maybe) if she knows it includes NFL Sunday ticket as she would use that primarily. Right now my sister and I split the cost of the bill evenly.
To me it seems like AT&T might be the better deal, especially since we get the cartoons we initially planned to get when we got TV with Comcast (for some reason they don't offer boomerang in our area?) and NFL Sunday Ticket which would help my mom out dramatically as far as cost goes even if she doesn't help us with our internet/tv bill.
What do you guys think? Would I be crazy to try and switch?
I asked my sister and she is okay with whatever she is just tired of switching back and forth. We just switched to a contract with TV and now I would be switching again.
