So after spending my 20s having a very serious addiction to heroin I've finally gotten clean, and have been for just about a year now. It was very tough but I'm happy to be alive. My finances are a mess and my credit is probably the worst it can be. This is from never building up credit in the first place, and also that whole not caring about anything but drugs lol. But I'm ready to tackle it I just have no idea where to begin. The majority of the debt is medical bills. I had an unexpected surgery 2 years ago, even though I had insurance it still came out to 12 thousands dollars. It was something I just could not handle at the time and it went to collections. Also a garnishment has started from a student loan that I was not aware of until it was to late. But I also think there is a plus side, none of it is credit card debt, no evictions or utilities. It's mostly the medical and student loan garnishment. I just want to be a normal person now and this is really holding me back. Any help on where I can possibly start would be so appreciated thanks!
