Here is the scenario: you bought a pair of shoes at $500 from a website and you have been wearing them occasionally. Then 2 weeks later you found out that the website was offering $200 off the same shoes you bought. Since you wouldn't be able to actually return your shoes because you already worn them, you placed an order for an exact same pair of shoes, and at the same time you submitted your return request for the original full-priced order. Few days later the new shoes arrived - the same shoes but discounted and unworn - you shipped them back brand new as your return. In the end, you save $200 on a pair of shoes, and the website gets their brand new pair of shoes back.
I thought of this when I found out something I bought was discounted a couple of days later... I'm not going to do this but genuinely curious if this kind of practice is illegal in any sense?
