Sure, the U.S. comprises a large portion of global wealth, but countries can go either way. We've seen that with the Japanese stock market, which was down for what, like 20-30 years or something?
Is investing in the S&P 500 really just an investment in U.S. companies, or is it a de facto investment in other countries via multinational companies that have presence in the U.S? Almost all popular indices, like Russel 2000, S&P500, Dow Jones, and Nasdaq appear to reflect U.S. companies. But the U.S. only contains like 25% of global wealth, right?
Do people in other countries also invest primarily in U.S. stocks and indices?
