I have received 3 settlement post cards in the last year. I can only remember specifically what 1 was for which was for sylvania automotive light bulbs I received the postcard because the purchase was linked to my store membership card. I received a settlement of $9.72. I don't remember what the problem was with the light bulbs that caused the settlement. The other settlement I can't remember what it was for the settlement check was $5-6 and I haven't received anything for the third one. You might not always get anything if the case is dismissed or you could only get a few cents. My husband always tells me to throw them away but it takes like 20 seconds to fill them out and you never know how much you could get back or you could possibly get a product. My parents got a replacement laptop when they filled out a settlement postcard, the settlement was for the original product over heating. And the company had their information from where they had registered the original laptop. Also usually the postcards are pre paid postage so you have nothing to lose. The only thing they have ever asked me is for my name and my address and returning it lets them know you want to participate in the settlement and that's all you have to do.
